Bye bye 29....

So it's official... As of midnight tonight I'm no longer a twenty-something male.. Time to dust off the walker and invest in some nipple high suspender pants.... And I have been wanting to give those young whipper-snappers a talking to lately.Hmmm.. seems the old man genes are kicking in.. NOW GET OUTTA MY YARD!!! ;)

Cranky Chloe..

Yesterday evening my daughter Chloe had a nice little nap.. But when she woke up from it, and we took her back out into the livingroom, she was super cranky for about 10 mins or so while she fully woke up.. It was funny.. and I just had to try and draw it... And of course.. for some reason.. I drew it really small.... oh well...

New Pencil..

I found a new pencil yesterday morning and did sowm warm up drawings with it.. I like it.. It's a 5B Faber Castell. For soem reason I was drawing everythign really small too.. most of these had to be scaled up for their original size..

Me 2...

First I did this bottom drawing... The one with no chin.. I liked it.. But April hated it.. She said "you have a chin!!" So I added a bit of a chin. I'm ok with the compromise... Now I have to work on some sketches of my daughter , Chloe.. Everything I've done so far looks like some kind of alien...

Now these are my attempts to get a stylized version of me that matched the style of my wifes model as close as I could.. I don't have photoshop on my system so I can't do any touch ups on the levels of my scans.. So I'm stuck with really sharp dark edges on some of these.. YAY!!! =)

April 3...

So.. here is pretty much the design that I'm going to try and use.. I was trying to get a Chris Sanders "all the limbs are bottom heavy" feel to it.. but I wasn't that successfull at it.. But I think these are pretty close to what was in my head... Only what was in my head was drawn better.. =) Most of these were done while watching CSI last night.. Something about seeing dead bodies... just makes me wanna draw my family ;)

I've been rtying to do a little family drawing because I realized that it's been quite a long time since I've done any drawings of my wife, April.. I had meant to trickle these sketches onto my blog throughout the week.. but my scaner access is really limited.. So here they are... All at once... and yes.. the bottom one was done on a sticky note..

Anime Me..

Wow.. Over a week and no post.... I suck... My friend Geremy and I are toying with the idea of doing an animated Anime short starring the two of us.. Something that really sends up all of those anime fight scene cliches in a funny way.. I hope.. Here's a page from my sketchbook of my attempts at anime me.. It's a style I haven't drawn in... well.. over 10 years.. Add to that the fact that I used some new grayscale brush pens to draw these with and Voila! You have my very mixed results!
